The Internet Arcade

Ever want to play an arcade game like Pac Man, Dig Dug, or Galaga for free on your computer? Well, now you can. Programmer Jason Scott has adapted over 900 GAMES from arcade machines, the Atari 2600, and the Commodore 64, among others, that you can play for free over at The Internet Arcade. Using JSMESS, he was able to port them all over to PC, and they play right on your Internet browser. It's a great way to play old favorites, or just pass some time. I tried out Golden Axe to see how it ran, and it played very smoothly. The control scheme was a little wonky, but it was fun. Also, you can add "tokens" whenever you want! It's a nice, easy way to play old games, and you don't have to worry about starting all over when you die. It's something that any old-school video game fan should check it out right here: https://archive.org/details/internetarcade

League of Legends: World Championship Finals

Posted by Jub Jub on October 20, 2014 at 5:00 PM Comments comments (0)

After weeks of grueling play, heated matches, amazing highs, and epic lows, the League of Legends World Championships ended. Here's the run-down.

Coming out of groups, two teams from each division moved on, in the finals, we were left with Samsung Galaxy White, and StarHorn Royal Club.
In a Best of Five, Samsung Galaxy White beat StarHorn Royal Club 3-1. Samsung DESTROYED Royal Club, with their jungler DanDy highlighting the match. Cries of the games being "The DanDy Show" were tweeted by pros, yelled by fans, and even the analyst desk joined in on the fanfare. DanDy played extremely well on Jarvan IV, and hsi signature champion, Rengar.
Imp, the AD Carry of Samsung, got laughs out of the audience because he decided to stop and dance a few times due to his team being very far ahead, with the aid of support player Mata. Top laner Looper also had strong showings, especially on Rumble, with midlaner PawN's Jayce exciting fans and demolishing his enemies.

On StarHorn's side, their toplaner Cola excelled in Game 3 as Maokai, and was the key reason they even won a match. Veteran jungler InSec had a mediocre showing throughout all 4 games, with Corn also being rather lackluster. The bright spot on the losers were their bot lane duo, Uzi and Zero, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Korean giants.
Overall, it was a great series and Samsung Galaxy White truly deserved being crowned the World Champions. Now, the struggle for fans? To wait another year until Season 5 Worlds.

League of Legends Season 4 World Championship: Group B Breakdown

Posted by Jub Jub on September 17, 2014 at 6:50 PM Comments comments (0)

As the League of Legends World Championship draws closer, it's time to take a look at Group B.

Group B features Team SoloMid, the number one team from the NALCS; StarHorn Royal Club, the number two team from the LPL; the Azubu Taipei Assassins, the number one team from the GPL; and SK Gaming, the number three team from the EULCS.

Group B stands out from all the other groups, because there are no Korean teams in it. Due to the Korean dominance in the League of Legends community, this group is considered weaker by some, but each team in the group is strong and dangerous in their own way. This is the only group where all four teams have been to a previous Worlds before - TSM (Team SoloMid) has been to all four Championships, while the other three teams are all marking their second world appearance.

Team SoloMid is by far the most popular team in North America, and one of the most succesful. Under the hands of founder, former player, and coach Reginald, they've established themselves as a dynasty in the League of Legends community. However, this is a very different roster going to Worlds then they've had before - long-time starters TheOddOne, Reginald, and XSpecial are all gone. Instead, German jungler Amazing, Danish midlaner Bjergsen, and Korean support Lustboy have moved in instead, making TSM the most diverse team in North America. These changes have made them a completely new team, and for the better. TSM is desperate for a win at Worlds, because of their long-running status as the only four-time team going in. This year, they have a strong shot due to toplaner Dyrus being a consistent rock, the super talented AD Carry Wildturtle, and Bjergsen, their team leader and arguably the most dominant mid in the West. TSM has tough matches against Royal Club and TPA, but if they wanted to make a run, this is there year.

StarHorn Royal Club is a completely remade team, after losing to Korea's SK Telecom 1 in the finals of the 2013 Worlds. With all but one member of their Season 3 team gone, Royal Club is an interesting contender once again. Uzi, the only original member left standing is one of the best in the world at the AD Carry position. The biggest addition came in All-Star Korean jungler InSec, who is famed for his insane mechanics, trailblazing play in the game, and success with Azubu Blaze (now CJ Entus Blaze). Zero, a solid support who played in Korea for two years is good pick-up, for he can help Uzi make up for not having former team captain Tabe anymore. Royal Club is predicted to finish first in the group, but recent infighting between Uzi and InSec won't help their performance at Worlds at all. This team has the potential to make it to the finals, but could fall short due to team in-fighting.

The Taipei Assassins shocked the League of Legends world when they won the Season 2 World Championships overly the heavily-favored Azubu Frost due to amazing play from Toyz, their midlaner and bebe, their AD Carry. The Assassins missed the Season 3 World Championships, and took a few steps back, but now they're once again a strong looking team. Only bebe remains from their Season 2 team, but toplaner Achie, midlaner Morning, and support Jay have been with the new line-up for more than a year. The only change from their Season 3 roster is the very talented jungler Winds, formerly of the Gamania Bears. This is a team with lots of synergy, a chip on their shoulder, and a lot of fire in them. Most analysts predict TPA making it out second, but don't be surprised if they take that first slot.

SK Gaming was a heavily-favored dark horse going into this group initally, due to strong players and a long history behind the team. Back in Season 2, SK, led by midlaner ocelote, could not make any magic happen but they're back after 2 years, with a new set of players. SK has experienced more line-up changes then any other team in the group, with a whopping 28 different players having started for them. Now, no players from their original Season 2 line-up are with the team, but it isn't a bad thing. CandyPanda, their AD Carry, is one of the best in Europe with a veteran support in nRated by his side. Svenskeren, their jungler, is also very good at his position. SK isn't a team that relies on flashy plays or big names: they rely on their synergy, and are very good together. However, Svenskeren recently got in trouble while playing on the Taiwanese servers for making racially insensitive comments and getting into fights with different players and was suspended three games, so this is very bad news for the team. Losing a starter, especially one as good as Sven, means analysts are saying it's even harder for this team to move forward. They're going to have to get a replacement in, and do their best to have this turn out well.

My predictions are:

Taipei Assassins come in 1st

StarHorn Royal Club comes in 2nd

Team SoloMid comes in 3rd

SK Gaming comes in 4th

League of Legends Season 4 World Championship: Introduction and Group A Breakdown

Posted by Jub Jub on September 11, 2014 at 7:10 PM Comments comments (0)

In only a few days, the League of Legends World Championship will officially kick off! This time, Worlds (as it is known in the League of Legends community), will have matches in Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. After last year, Riot Games has completely overhauled the way the Championship works. This year, the 16 teams that qualified will battle it out, in four different groups in the Group Stage of the tournament, with Groups A and B playing in Taiwan, while Groups C and D playing in Singapore. From there, the quarter, semi, and finals matches will take place in Korea!

Riot Games divided the Groups based off of region (the League they played in) and seed (the place they finished in the Worlds Qualifiers).

In Group A, the four teams competing are: Edward Gaming, the number one LPL (Chinese) team; Samgsung Galaxy White, the number two OGN (Korean) team; AHQ, the number two GPL (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Phillippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore) team; and Dark Passage, the winners of the International Wildcard tournament (who hail from Turkey).

Group A has some tough Asian teams in the mix, with Edward Gaming dominating in China and not even losing a match on their way to Worlds. Surprisingly to some, they are not even front-runners in their own Group after their total dominance in China.

Samsung Galaxy White finished 2nd in the Korean league, losing only against their sister-team Samsung Galaxy Blue. The Koreans are the most feared League of Legends players in the world, due to their communication, mechanical skills, and knowledge of the game, and many experts are already pinning Samsung Galaxy White as winners of this group.

AHQ e-Sports are a Taiwanese team with a knack for second place, having finished 2nd overall in the GPL twice, and only winning it once. However, they are not to be taken lightly, and have proven themselves consistent and tough, with their GPL Season 3 Tournament win. AHQ is probably going to have a hard time, because it looks like they are outmatched by Edward and Samsung Galaxy White. However, they are a proven team with a lot of experience under their belt.

Dark Passage is a question mark for a lot of analysts in the League of Legends scene, because Turkey is a region that is just beginning to make a name for themselves in th international community. Dark Passage has the advantage where few teams know about them, but many are writing them off immediantly because of this. For Dark Passage, it probably will be an uphill battle, but they have a chance of causing an upset and shocking the world.

Legend of Korra: Book 3; Enter The Void

The final 2 episodes of Korra Book 3 are here! "Enter The Void" begins with us getting some much needed backstory on Zaheer's relationship with P'Li. You can see how much they have waited to be together. Unfortunatley, they both are crazy and want to destroy everything.......

Korra decides to give herself up to prevent Zaheer from killing every last one of the air benders. Turns out it was all a trick and everyone gets into a giant battle. On the brighter side of things, TENZIN IS ALIVE GUYS!! Ghazan uses his super lava bending powers to destroy the temple and corners Asami, Mako, Tenzin, and Bolin in a corner. Using a secret passage, they try to outrun the lava but  get cornered onthe face of a cliff and BOLIN LAVA BENDS!

Meanwhile, Korra and Tonraq do a father-daughter team up on Zaheer. Suyin, and Lin take on P'Li. To distact P'li, Lin uses herself as a distraction so that Suyin can take P'li out from behind. Right as P'li is about to shoot Lin with her fire beam, Suyin metalbends her armor onto P'li's head....Basically blowing her head head off.

DANG! That must have hurt....Like a lot.....

This causes Zaheer to have no attachment in the mortal world and he finally "Enters The Void." He throws Tonraq off a cliff, seemingly to his death, and gains the ability to fly. Yea you heard me...He can fly!

Congratulations! Your Zaheer has evolved into Super Zaheer.

The episode ends with Zaheer spilling the beans on his super evil plan. Turns out Zaheer wants to destroy Korra in the Avatar state so that there will never be another Avatar. Also Tonroq is revealed to be alive.

This was an amazing episode, and the season finale has big shoes to fill! Are you a fan of Korra? What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments below! Also, don't forget to follow TeenGamersOnline on Facebook and Twitter. Stay tuned for my review of the season finale!

Day Z Coming to PS4

Recently at Gamescom we were all treated to a huge shocker; Day Z, the insanely popular and addicting PC game is coming to PS4. Yes, you can now rob people in your underwear on your PS4. The future is here.

This is in your future.

Day Z has probably the most messed up community in gaming. Almost every player wants to take your literal blood, and steal everything that you own. Including your clothes. Yea, it's THAT kind of game. Unfortunatley, we have no comfirmed release date at the moment. The devs have comfirmed that it will be "soon."

It's so close I can touch it.

What do you guys think about DayZ on PS4? Let us know in the comments below! Also, don't forget to subscribe to TeenGamersOnline and like us on Facebook and Twitter.

Guardians of The Galaxy Review

Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge risk for Marvel. It took relatively unknown characters and gave them an entire movie. The movie also focuses on a giant tree, a raccoon, and aliens. So yea, the film was a huge gamble. Luckily, Marvel got a hold of James Gunn.

James Gunn was able to create an incredibly unique film. The movie is freaking hilarious, action-packed, and tense. Each character is awesome in their own way. As the movie progresses, the guardians become more likable. Groot and Rocket are definite standouts in the movie. The great writing and hilarious dialogue causes the film to become more engaging to all audiences. Every joke hits its mark. Chris Pratt does an awesome job as Star Lord. Gamora, (Zoe Saldana) although unlikable at first, become as very fleshed-out character and a standout member of the team. Drax (Dave Bautista) is the awesome tank of the team, acting erratic and crazy.

The dynamic between the guardians is absolutely hilarious. There is never boring or dragged-out moment in the 121 minute movie. The action scenes are absolutely stunning; especially one involving the nova cops that I'm trying hard not to spoil! The tech used in Guardians has a very unique feel. It feels very steam punk as apposed to films like Star-Trek where everything feels really high-tech. The steam-punk feel gives things a very different look on the universe that the guardians live in. It's a pretty screwed up place, with danger and death around every corner.

James Gunn's writing and directing brought life to a film many people were skeptical over. The entire cast, crew, and everyone involved deserves to be praised. Guardians of The Galaxy is able to trump all Marvel movies as my favorite so far. I cannot stress enough how much you need to see it. Like right now. I'm not kidding. Go see it NOW.

Evolve is The Best Thing in The History of Things

Turtle Rock studios has been turning a lot of heads lately with Evolve; a new IP that involves you playing as either humans trying to hunt the monster, or a monster that has an odd craving for 4 specific humans. I was lucky enough to demo the game at Comic Con 2014. I was really looking forward to demo the new characters and monster. I wasn't expecting the game to be this amazing.

Playing as "Cthulhu" is also the coolest thing ever.

Playing as the monster and humans is a completely different experience. I was convinced when I first started playing as the monster that he is way too underpowered to compete against the hunters. I was really freaking wrong. Once the monster eats enough wildlife, he evolves into his next form. To do this, you have to find a safe hiding spot and cocoon up. During this, you can use skill points to level up certain abilities. Once you emerge from your cocoon of death, you can either eat more wildlife to evolve to the ultra powerful stage 3, or hunt the humans and lay the hurt on them.

Stage 3: You're pretty much screwed.

Playing as the humans is all about the team dynamic. If someone is not helping out, the entire team will suffer. Each of the 4 classes of hunters are extremely well balanced. The assault; which acts as your primary dealer of damage to the monster, the medic; heals your team, and has a sniper rifle, the trapper; traps the monster in a giant force-field, and bucket; a class that slows the monster down. Each class relies on a certain person to help them out during the fight. Each person has a job. If they do not do their job correctly, the entire game will be a lot harder.

Cue epic music

The constant team dynamic makes things a lot more fun. The daunting map, vicious wildlife, and hunting the monster makes for an awesome experience. I cannot stress how much I need this game NOW. It's too awesome!

What do you think of Evolve? Have you tried it out? Let us know in the comments below! And don't forget to follow TeenGamersOnline on Facebook and Twitter. Also, don't forget to pre-order Evolve here. Stay tuned for more on Evolve!

Fun Day at Kids Choice Awards 2014 Celebrity Connected's Gift Suite

The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards are this Saturday March 29.  What happens in the days leading up to this party celebrating Kids???  Parties and Gift Suites honoring hard working kids in films, TV and music.  I had a great time attending the Celebrity Connected's Gift Suite on Friday March 28 in honor of the Kids Choice Awards.  The event was held at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills.  Celebrity Connected always does a great job creating a fun party style atmosphere for their events and everyone attending has a great time!

Some of the Stuffies given to guests.  Guests were given their choice of these fun and new styles of Stuffies.  Now with the paws, mouth and inside unzipping...how much stuff could you stuff???  Also their new design was a baby stuffie with magnetic feet that guests threw against a wall and watched them stick!  http://www.stuffies.com  This was the super fun booth that everyone made sure they stopped by at.

Hawaii anyone?  Guests were treated to the taste of Hawaii with two great companies. Hawaiian Host chocolates in dark, milk and with caramel. Yummy!!!  I couldn't wait to get home and sample my chocolates.  Also from Hawaii was the Honolulu Cookie Company with their gift boxes of Premium Shortbread Cookies in a variety of flavors from pineapple, mango, and coffee and all of them dipped in white, milk and dark chocolate.

Josh Feldman with his Zummer Sport basketball wallet

Some of my other favorite things were accessories made out of sports balls (Tennis, football, basketball etc) by Zummer Sport.  Very cool wallet and my fuzzy tennis ball luggage tag is already on my suitcase.  Other things we loved were dooodolls http://www.bsvtoys.com which are alien looking stuffed animals.  Pick one based on your astrological sign or just pick one that makes you laugh.  Cool animals figures for the ocean and the land from Safari Ltd. I loved my dragon http://www.safariltd.com.

I'm munching on my Stauffer's Animals Cookies and Meiji Hello Panda Cookies right now. I got the strawberry and they are amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on the other Meiji Hello Panda flavors (chocolate, vanilla...) One of the coolest things I saw was by Hexbug. They have Micro Robotic Creatures and their remote controlled spider...All I can say is, I can't wait to get my hands on a spider and play with it! http://www.hexbug.com

Josh Feldman, Zach Callison, Joey Luthman

One of the best parts of the event was hanging out with friends you don't see all the time because we're busy working.  We can't wait for the next Celebrity Connected event and to check out what cool things they have for us.  If there's anything we mentioned that you'd like to know more about or items to review, let us know and we'll do a detailed review on it!
